3 LOGO DESIGNING MISTAKE TO AVOID ON YOUR WEBSITE

The logo is definitely one of the most important aspects of a company’s brand image, and often one that is the toughest to get right. It showcases the personality of your brand and should instantly convey what you do, at a glance. Logo designing can therefore, be considered as a short and beautiful language with the power to influence markets and capture customer attention like never before, creating instant recognition in their minds about your product/service/brand. Logo designing is also NOT an exact science and one can easily make mistakes that might render a business’ marketing and branding efforts completely useless. To help you steer clear of such a situation, here is a list of 3 logo designing mistakes to avoid on your website.

Mistake#1: Resolution dependent graphics

Considering how firmly our business world is now entrenched in the mobile marketing platform, you need to ensure that your website logo can be properly scaled for a device with just about any screen size. Images need to appear consistent across online platforms, meaning that your logo design and typeface should be readable and distinct. Pixellation issues are a strict no-no and light-weight graphics are recommended to preserve image quality across different devices.

Mistake#2: Copying successful brands

If you think you can succeed in grabbing the audience’s attention by using a logo design that is similar to other popular brands, you will have to rethink your strategy. By imitating existing and popular logo designs, you are conveying a bad message to internet users who will most definitely judge you on your plagiarism, lack of ingenuity and of course, questionable professional values. Make sure you create a logo design that is unique and relevant to your business niche.

Mistake#3: Over-complicating the design

When designing logos, it is extremely easy to go overboard with your ideas. Complex designs and over-use of different fonts can get your branding strategy to fall flat on its face. Instead, you should select unique, memorable and easy to follow logo designs that your customers can understand and form a connection with. Avoid using more than two typefaces and keep the overall graphics as simple as you can.

Just keep these facts in mind when designing your business logo and you won’t face any issues!
